It has taken a long time to get to where we are now with 370 hectares covered across Ireland.

What do we mean by 'covered' - we go through all of the data that we can find from various sources to make an appropriate assessment of all of our landlords properties. This includes a full list of species recorded for their town land, distilling all of the other data available and coming up with recommendations to optimise for biodiversity on their property. This then forms the basis for a site specific stewardship agreement that we tokenise.

We want to enable individuals and other entities to purchase shares in said agreement to show they support optimising for biodiversity.

It has been a very long process to refine our approach and learn all of the different data sources to then provide a wealth of information and distil it down into meaningful reports. Just to learn about the individual characteristics of different habitats through out the country by digging into the data has been a great experience already.

What has been really interesting is getting first hand experience of the impact that even small reservoirs of protected habitat has on the wildlife that you see around them.

The main expenses that we have incurred so far have been on getting the legalese sorted out and travel expenses, by far the greatest investment has been time and look forward to spending a lot more of that on the project till we are in a position to start putting the project on its own more financially sustainable footing.

We do not charge landowners for the reports that we generate as that wouldn't make sense. We simply prescribe the same general formula - although it isn't always the same of course. Exclude browser species, remove invasive species and optimise for natural regeneration of native species.
